Last Monday, here in the U.S., Numana celebrated Martin Luther King, Jr Day with a packaging event at Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Kansas City, MO. To quote Dr. King, “Pity may represent little more than the impersonal concern which prompts the mailing of a check, but true sympathy is the personal concern which demands the giving of one’s soul.” At Numana, we do appreciate those of you who help fund our activities, but we know that it truly means so much more, when you can give of yourself in serving those who are starving. You are truly doing more, then just showing pity!
Olusegun Obesanjo (Former President of Nigeria and Member of the Africa Progress Panel), writes in the Huffington Post of Africa’s potential to meet the demands of the hungry and starving in that land.
Our continent has the resources and science has given us the solutions to prevent hunger crises permanently. We have the means to grow not just enough food for our needs but to produce a surplus for export, no matter how challenging the climate or weather condition…..
