Our Process
When have you had the opportunity to spend a couple of hours saving lives?
Numana, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) public charity formed in August 2008 as an international hunger relief organization.
Numana offers a new way to help save the starving. By providing a hands on, actionable solution to hunger, Numana has enabled over 120,000 people to make a difference for the malnourished.
Numana facilitates food packaging events, where hundreds of volunteers serve together in two to four-hour shifts in an assembly line fashion packaging simple, nutritious meals.
Our life-sustaining meals, consisting of rice, soy protein, freeze-dried beans, and 21 vitamins and minerals targeted to help the immune system of malnourished people, are measured into bags, sealed, boxed, and prepared for shipment at our events.
At only 30 cents per meal, the ingredients, packaging, administration, and international shipping are covered. The meals are delivered primarily through Salvation Army World Services Organization to school feeding programs, disaster relief and crisis situations.
Event partners; corporations, schools, churches and civic groups raise the money for the food, select an event location and recruit volunteers to participate in the packaging. All ages can participate in this fun, unifying experience, building teamwork, and developing leadership skills. It is a life-changing event for all involved. Throughout the process, Numana is committed to guiding the event partner in all facets by providing tips, ideas and tools to help the group reach their goals.
