Dedaab, Kenya - More than 400,000 displaced, desperate people have crowded into a refugee camp made to hold only 90,000. Starvation drove them here, banding them together in hopes of keeping their remaining family members alive. Dedaab is one of the many “visions of hell”, so named by media reports, scattered throughout the Horn of Africa. Extreme famine in this region is affecting approximately 11 million people. Each day, mothers, fathers, grandparents and children cry out for hope.
Numana can help you send a message of hope. A portion of food and a bright, colorful sticker with a personal message shows you are aware of their plight and that you value their life. The victims of famine are not that different from you and your family. By extending your hand through Messages of Hope, you can make a difference. At only 30 cents a meal, $15 feeds 50 people, $30 feeds 100 and a Numana box of food with 216 meals is only $65. Your donation of any amount is extremely needed and helpful.
Through Numana’s Messages of Hope, you combine your financial support with a message of encouragement written in either English or Swahili, the common language of that region. Your message written on the provided sticker will decorate bags, boxes and pallets of food sent to the Horn of Africa and is a visible reminder that you know they are suffering and want to help.
After making your donation, you will receive a Messages of Hope sticker to communicate your care for the suffering. The stickers will decorate the packaged food being shipped to the Horn of Africa region. As the food fills their bellies, the messages can fill their hearts.

Type your message in English (below left) and hit translate. The message will be translated into Swahili on the right for you to include on your Messages of Hope sticker. Go ahead try it!
